Curriculum Chromæ

“Curriculum Chromæ” is a conceptual unit on color. Coming up with the -æ ending involves a linguistic play which echoes back to the term vitae and represents my long-standing research and reflections on color in this biographical endeavor.

The internal processes that allow the eye to perceive the sense of color result from brain function. The brain enables photoreceptors to interpret as color all those our vision tries to understand. As an artist with an ever-present knowledge of color, the brain goes on with visualizing what is being seen. Otherwise, perceiving visual stimuli would solely resemble material or immaterial fallacies. The brain brings images to life, which, once engraved in our mind, allow for the color expression to become a biological experience and, then, take the form of visual intervention.
