Curriculum Chromæ

“Curriculum Chromæ” is a conceptual unit on color. Coming up with the -æ ending involves a linguistic play which echoes back to the term vitae and represents my long-standing research and reflections on color in this biographical endeavor.

Viewer’s interaction with the orange color can sometimes be welcome or it might generate feelings of aggression. Its image is in line with its true function as a color which does not seek the representational demands that change its self-definition. It is expressed through a living language which is not bent by formalistic threats but artfully unfolds its own activity encountering personal explorations. Creativity fluctuates within the stages of destabilization to cross, mature at that time, the threshold of inspiration, while the orange engages in a dialogue with itself. The visual stimulation varies every time people that come across external stimuli experience change on the inside.

  • “Orange looks like a man convinced of his powers and hence causes a particularly healthy feeling” - Wassily Kandinsky
