Curriculum Chromæ

“Curriculum Chromæ” is a conceptual unit on color. Coming up with the -æ ending involves a linguistic play which echoes back to the term vitae and represents my long-standing research and reflections on color in this biographical endeavor.

The beginning, middle and end comprise the course of the evolution of things, be it the structure of an ancient drama or the cycle of life that ends with death succeeded sooner or later by a new birth, and then all goes as it was before. Black spreads beyond any constraint and interpretation. It does not stop anywhere, defeats every obstacle and increases its strength and presence. It becomes complete through material and mental fragments. It experiences its distinct rebirth structured through the destruction of every existing element. Black has its own story and acts as a king or emperor in a battlefield where victory is already on its side. There is an indisputable fate to it, which cannot be shaken but becomes more and more solid. It captures the contradictions in a masterly manner, maintaining in the meantime an inexhaustible independence. What is behind black? Can you see it?
